She enjoys being outdoors, working out, baking, watching movies, and spending time with her silly Frenchie named Thor.

Dr. Erin Sanborn, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Erin Sanborn, DVM, is an Associate Veterinarian at Eastwaye Veterinary Clinic. She grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Sciences from the University of Arizona before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Oklahoma State University. While in veterinary school, she met her husband, a U.S. Air Force pilot, whose career led their family to live in Idaho and England before ultimately settling in North Carolina.
Dr. Sanborn’s passion for veterinary medicine began early through riding horses and shadowing her local equine veterinarian. Her interest continued to grow while working in a small animal clinic during college, where she discovered her love for small animal medicine. She finds veterinary medicine deeply rewarding as it allows her to combine science, problem-solving, and compassion to advocate for patients who cannot speak for themselves, whether managing complex cases or helping pet owners navigate difficult decisions.
Professionally, Dr. Sanborn has a strong interest in preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the United Kingdom. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and has visited five continents and more than 50 countries. She also loves spending time with her daughter and her pets, including a golden retriever named Cooper and a cat named Koda.

Elvedina “Dina” Lazarevic
Lead Veterinary Assistant
Elvedina is a Veterinary Assistant at Eastwaye Veterinary Clinic. She was born and raised in Bosnia and moved to Goldsboro in November 1997, where she has since built her life and career. Her lifelong love for animals began early, growing up with cats as pets, which naturally led her to pursue a career in the veterinary field.
Elvedina enjoys the variety that each day brings in her role and appreciates that no two days are ever the same. Even after many years in the profession, she finds the work engaging and fulfilling. She knew she was in the right career when she realized she went to work feeling genuinely happy, never dreading the day ahead. For Elvedina, working with animals feels like spending time with her best friends.
Outside of work, Elvedina is married and is a proud mother to a 20-year-old son who attends NC State. She loves spending time with her family, watching football, soccer, and basketball, and tending to her garden. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga with friends and traveling whenever she gets the chance.

Ashley Cox
Practice Manager
Ashley Cox has been a valued member of the Eastwaye Veterinary Clinic team since January 2011, serving as the Office Manager. With over a decade of experience in a veterinary practice setting, Ashley plays a key role in ensuring the clinic runs smoothly while supporting both the team and the clients they serve.
Born and raised in Goldsboro, Ashley comes from a military family. Her father’s retired military career led her family to remain in the area so she and her brother could graduate locally. She holds an associate’s degree in Animal Science and a bachelor’s degree in Business, a combination that perfectly blends her love for animals with her strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ashley began her career in the veterinary industry out of a deep passion for animals, paired with an interest in science and medicine. What she finds most rewarding about her work is the emotional impact—being able to support animals and their owners through challenging times and knowing her efforts truly make a difference. She knew she was in the right profession when she saw firsthand how her work improved the lives of patients and helped build lasting trust with pet owners.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys reading, exploring the outdoors, and getting creative at home. She and her boyfriend share a cozy homestead where they care for one dog and ten chickens, and she has grown to love gardening and outdoor chores as a relaxing weekly routine. Ashley treasures time spent with her family, especially her two nephews, and her dog Flynn—her loyal “Velcro buddy” who is never far from her side.

Tiffany Calvin
Veterinary Assistant
Tiffany is a Veterinary Assistant and Lead Surgery Assistant at Eastwaye Veterinary Clinic with over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field. Originally from the United Kingdom, Tiffany began her career as a veterinary nurse before relocating to the United States. She holds a four-year bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and later earned her veterinary technician diploma while living in the U.S.
Tiffany’s journey to Goldsboro, North Carolina, was shaped by her husband’s career in the military. As a retired Air Force firefighter with over 20 years of service, his role took their family across the UK and Florida before they ultimately settled in Goldsboro. Tiffany knew she was in the right profession from the very first day she helped save a patient’s life—an experience that solidified her lifelong commitment to veterinary medicine.
Outside of work, Tiffany’s love for animals extends to every part of her life. She is an accomplished horse rider and has been a riding instructor for more than 15 years. She owns four horses and enjoys hitting the trails with her daughter, whose passion for animals mirrors her own. At home, Tiffany also cares for two sweet dogs and a variety of reptiles and amphibians, and she treasures spending time with her family and animals whenever she can.
